Google – “Please migrate off JSON-RPC and Global HTTP Batch Endpoints”

If you have integrated Google G-Suite with Foldr you may receive an email from Google containing the following message:

“Hello Google API Developer,

We are writing to let you know that the JSON-RPC and Global HTTP batch endpoints will be deprecated on March 26, 2018, and no longer functional from March 25, 2019..”

This email can be ignored, providing you have upgraded your appliance to v4.7.1.9 (released 26th March 2018) or later.  This update contains the necessary changes and no longer uses the deprecated batch endpoints.

If you need to upgrade your Foldr appliance, you can do this from the Foldr Settings web UI >> Appliance tab >> Updates.  Please note that it is recommended that you snapshot your appliance or ensure you have a backup before updating.

Alternatively, you may wish to update to the latest release using an ISO image instead.  This is usually worthwhile if the system is very far behind the available latest release as it speeds up the installation process.

The latest available update will always be available here in ISO format:

https://foldr.minnow.it/flinks/v4-latest-update

Download the ISO file, attach it to the virtual CD / DVD drive on the Foldr VM (you may need to add the virtual hardware which will require the system to be powered down) and then browse to:

Foldr Settings >> Appliance >> Updates >> Update Settings >> enable ‘Use ISO Updates’ and finally click Update Settings

Once you have done this, click ‘Check For Updates’ and you will be prompted to install the update version available on the attached ISO.

You should always delete any snapshots taken once you have confirmed the system has updated successfully.
