At the time of writing this article (April 2021) there is a known issue with the Intel Iris XE / Iris Plus Graphics G4 GPU found in various Windows devices, such as the Microsoft Surface Pro 7. This results in the Foldr web sign-in window appearing blank and not rendering correctly.
This is caused by a bug in the Intel driver and the underlying web browser subprocess used by the Foldr app.
To resolve this issue, enable the Software Render option in the app by creating a registry key
Open the registry editor ,by searching for ‘regedit’ without quotes, or right-click the Windows/Start button > Run > type regedit and hit enter.
Accept the User Access Control prompt, if shown. The registry editor will appear.
Expand Computer > HKEY LOCAL MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Foldr > Default. Right-click on Default and select New > String Value
Create a new string named SoftwareRender as shown below. It is important that this is keyed accurately and no trailing spaces are included.
Double click the newly created SoftwareRender registry string and assign it a value of 1
Click OK. The registry editor can now be closed.
Relaunch the Foldr app and the web sign-in UI should display correctly.
